Donald J. Dattilo of Arlington Heights, formerly of Mt. Prospect, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 26, 2016 after a long illness. He was born in Chicago to the late Anthony and Hilda Dattilo. Don was the beloved husband of Lillian Dattilo nee Skora for 59 years; dear father Jim (Toni) Dattilo, Joan Dattilo, Tom (Roxanne) Dattilo, Nancy (Chris) Janicak and Carol (Mike) Marcely; proud grandfather of Benjamin (Ellen) Dattilo, Eryn (Jason) Stone, Kristin (James) Fenner, Kevin Hegstadt, Rebecca Hegstad, Emily Dattilo, David Dattilo, Justin Janicak, Matt Marcely and A. J. Marcely; delighted great grandfather of Harper Stone. Don is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Annette (Mathew) Weber, Helen (Lincoln) Stardy and George (Kathryn) Datillo.

Don served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He was a loyal friend to many.

Visitation Friday 3:00 – 8:00 PM at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9:00 AM until mass 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia Church, Golf Rd. (Rt.58) at Meier Rd., Mt. Prospect.

Interment All saints.
